Organic Waste Solutions is a family run business that seeks to improve the current attitudes and practices surrounding organic waste management. We strongly believe that organic waste is a valuable resource that can be recovered and utilized to improve Western Australia’s dry and nutrient deficient soils.

Organic Waste and Self Sufficiency

Each week the average Australian household throws out 10 kg of organic matter that could be recycled. In a small community of 40 houses, this would equate to 400kgs of organic waste per week that could be easily managed with a medium scale worm bed rotational system. With the topic of Peak Oil being of greater concern, and the potential cost of transport and petroleum products (like artificial fertilizers) rising, now is the time to start acting locally. People will need to think about consuming locally grown produce which requires less transportation and less use of chemicals. Worm farms offer a ready source of quality fertilizer to use to grow fresh fruit and vegetables in suburban areas.
